President Obama's health scare...

I'm in awe and amazed at how many people out there are saying "the president said ________" and believe it without any skepticism. Those same people will be the first, come election time, to say "all politicians are liars".

A few examples: The president said the bill does not say illegals will be covered - reality is that illegals are not specifically mentioned to be covered, however, there is no stipulation what so ever that they won't.

Same idea with abortions, he said there is nothing in the bill that says they will be covered, but there is nothing in there that says they won't be covered. However there is a lot in there about reproductive health, and what do pro-choice people feel abortion falls under? Reproductive health care for women... You do the math.

This president is no more a great orator then I. I'm not that good really. But he knows how to read well, in our libraries we call those people great "story tellers" and I don't believe them no matter how convincing they are. At the end of the day they are just reading fiction.

I truly hope people will wake up before it's too late, because once it passes it will be too late to go back. I'm tired of hearing those who are too tired or frustrated with the current system, or plain lazy state that they will leave it up to people smarter then them to figure it out indicating that "smarter then them" would be those in Washington. This is not always the case folks. I would describe them as a lot of things but smarter would not necessarily be one of them.

Government controlled health care has been tried, tested, and found wanting in many places. My question to this administration is what are you doing different so that where it has failed so miserably so many other places, it would possibly succeed here? The answer would be: nothing. We take the same steps and expect to end up in a different place, it does not work that way.

Our health care system needs some work, but the kind of overhaul the president is pushing will only set us back in the medical fields not forward. I don't want panels of any kind deciding who deserves what treatment. I don't want to pay more taxes for less care. I don't want to pay more of my money for women who use abortion as birth control. I don't want to make it easier for people who's first act is to break the laws of our land (by coming in illegally) to get health care, welfare, etc. If they want our benefits they need to get here the right way. Our life style is worth the work to get here the RIGHT way. If you don't think so - STAY HOME and see what you get there.

I've been told that I get emotional about politics. Indeed I do, I guess I don't know how to separate passion from emotion. I'll work on that, but getting rid of the emotions will not stop me from stating the truth. This presidency is likely to be the most failed presidency in our history thus far. Hopefully it never gets worse. Inherited debt does not excuse the kind of debt this president has amassed so far and will continue to amass in the next 3 years. A health care system that needs work does not call for us to try something that is already a proven failure.

This president accuses us of using scare tactics - what you are trying to accomplish in my country, Mr. President, scares me. I'll quit when you do.
