A direction we don't want to go...

Imagine you are an average citizen, but you have a good idea, and you work to research how that idea would be received, then you work some more to build on that idea, and spend money and time - you put everything you have into getting your idea out there, you've mortgaged your home, worked two jobs to pay for getting your idea off the paper and into reality. Your idea is well received and others pay for access to it, after a couple of years you start to see a profit, you've struggled through and finally your dreams are achieved, now you can relax a bit, and it is easier now to get more of your ideas off the ground and you relax, but you still work hard to keep things going, and it is worth it because you and your family can now start to reap the benefits of all that hard work.

Along comes the government, and they decide that you have too much wealth, you have more than your slice of the pie and they decide that you need to pay more in taxes - not just more because you make more - your already doing that 30% of a million is more than 30% of 50,000 right? But that is not good enough - because you have "more" now they want you to pay 50% - after all you'll still be making more in dollars than the man down the street that is only paying 30%. It is your duty after all... right?

Never mind that you have been giving money to different charities because you already feel that it is up to you, morally, to share that which you have been blessed with. Never mind that the man down the street also had a good idea - one that would have out shined yours as a matter of fact, but he did not want to put he work into making it real. Never mind that you sacrificed time and energy with your family for a time, because you knew - you believed - that you could have more with them later.

Think about it, would you really be willing to put yourself and your family through all that it takes to be that successful, if in the end someone can just come a long and take it from you and give it to everyone else as they see fit?

And think about the man on the other end of this, since he is now gaining from the hard work of his neighbor, do you think he has more or less incentive to follow that dream of his own?

After a time, the people who do the work necessary to make their lives better for themselves and for their families will stop doing that if someone can just swoop in and take what they have worked for and give it to everyone else. Eventually, the system is broken because there is not enough "wealth" to spread amongst everyone... the system breaks down. Then where are we?

This kind of "take from the rich and give to the poor" attitude has never worked. Instead we need to cultivate a society where hard work pays off, where we can reap the benefits of our hard work, and cultivate a society where we STRIVE to be generous with those less fortunate than ourselves.

Right now we have an administration in place that wants socialism in place, and further they want us to believe that Christians and the faithful are the minority, they want us to give into the idea that human life is only as valuable as we want it to be, but as soon as it becomes inconvenient it is disposable. They want us to believe that they have a better idea of where our money should be spent then we do, they want us to know that we are incompetent, and untrustworthy in making our decisions.

For a party that claims to be pro-choice they sure do want to take a lot of choices away from us - they don't want us to choose to carry firearms, or to choose our own health care, or what charities we would like to give our money to, or what car to drive, or what kind of school we send our children to (or not).

Look at what has been happening around us - does this look like "change" for the better? Does it look like "hope" is there for our future?

If you are reading this and if you have not yet called or written your representatives about an issue you feel passionately about - THEN DO IT NOW! Your voice does not END in the election booth - that is where it begins. Your representatives will listen. But we can not afford to be quiet any more. We are loosing our rights, we are loosing our freedoms, and we are standing by letting it happen. There are petitions out there to sign, there are phone calls to make, letters to right, rallies to attend. Do SOMETHING to be apart of what happens in your life. This country is supposed to be run by it's people - not it's government, but we have given over the reins as we just go along for the ride.

Enough is enough!
