Politics isn't what it use to be...

We have the CIA head Leon Panetta over the weekend actually accusing our former Vice President Dick Cheney of "wishing that this country would be attacked again, in order to make his point."

ARE YOU NUTS Mr. Panetta? That you would suggest that the VP in office during the attacks on 911 would wish that on the United States. This is a remark I would expect from a person on the street maybe, someone like those poor saps in Harlem that were interviewed and didn't even know that Sarah Palin was not running with Obama. That is the kind of person I would expect to hear something like this from. Someone completely ignorant of what is going on into this country.

Do you really believe that the VP who was in office while our country went through financial crisis, went to war, had to clean up after the fact, had to look all those families in the face, was there in the middle of it all - that he would wish this on our country again?

Shame on you Mr. Panetta! And shame on the Obama administration for not admonishing him for such reckless statements.

It is amazing to me that our country has come to this. We no longer just disagree with the way the other side would run things, the way they do things but we now fling horrific accusations around like it's nothing.

The political parties in our country do not agree on how things should be done, that exactly what our system is based on. It is important to give our different views and it is on that basis that the votes should be cast, but each election that passes it seems that politics is less and less about how the country should be run and more and more about how we can best make the other side look like devils.

To those of you on the left - your guy is in office - rejoice and then pay attention as the person you voted in uses his office to bring down our economy, bring out debt to an all time high, ruin our health care system, well the list will go on... I agree with Mr. Cheney that Obama and his administration are making the country less safe but I would not go so far out of whack as to suggest that they WANT an attack, that they are doing it deliberately. I do believe they have an agenda for this country that isn't in line with what the country stands for, and was built on. I believe they want to drastically change our country. I disagree with them. But I do not think any on the left would like to see the horrific events that came on September 11, 2001 to be repeated.

Stop the childish attacks on the right. If you've got something intelligent to debate, lets hear it, but the head of the CIA being allowed to suggest that former VP Cheney is "wishing" for another attack - wow! Palosi suggesting that the CIA lied to her - who's back peddling now?

Republicans, it is time to get ourselves together. Because when the next election comes around in 2010 we have work to do, as well as really revving up for 2012. We must be ready to lead this country!
