I'm a Catholic, homeschooling mom of 6 (including my son who is at West Point), married to my HS sweetie. I enjoy political debates, religious discussion, and have carved out this spot on the web to put little Pieces of Me. :) Enjoy!

Honoring The Rosary - Final Thoughts

Photobucket
First I want to say that if you have not been able to follow this from start to finish then you need to go back a few blogs. I will link them in order here:
Honoring The Rosary
Honoring the Rosary - The Prayers
Honoring the Rosary - The Joyful Mysteries
Honoring the Rosary - The Sorrowful Mysteries
Honoring The Rosary - The Glorious Mysteries
Honoring The Rosary - Luminous Mysteries

It should be clear by now that I LOVE the Rosary, at least I hope I have made that clear. I do not get to say all 20 decades everyday - come on - I am the mom of 5 very active kids and I do allow daily life to overwhelm me just like everyone else.

I can tell you that I work towards saying the prayer more and more often. I think it is a prayer that is very worth saying, even on the days when I am not meditating on it as fully as I should. Let's face it, the only time I get to sit down and say all 20 decades is at 3:00 am when everyone else is asleep. That is also when I need it the most, the typical reason I'm up at 3:00 am is because I have let the stress and anxiety fill my entire self so much that I am unable to sleep.

Saying the Rosary relieves my stress and anxiety immediately - and it makes so much sense that it does. When I sit down to say the Rosary, I am switching my focus from money, raising kids, trying to be a good wife, fussing over things I do not have to something so much bigger than any of that: My Father. And I am ever so grateful to have His mother to help guide me back to where I should be.

If you don't have beads - it will help you keep track. It is one of the best I've seen for helping one stay on track and focused with the mysteries as well. Give it a try!

My intention when I started this was to have a short essay on The Rosary, obviously it has turned into so much more. I have very much enjoyed writing this, and I have learned a few things along the way. I now have two books in my "to read" list and many webpages bookmarked so that I could return to them. This has been very enriching for me. If it has been useful for you, I'd love to hear about it. Just leave me a comment or email me. Thank you!
